This free ESL PowerPoint board game for online classes or smartboards was made to accompany the Super Simple version of the song Old MacDonald Had A Farm. Use it in your ESL classes with young learners to review the following farm animals:
- cow
- horse
- pig
- sheep
- duck
- rooster
Game rules:
The students are divided into two teams. The teacher shares the screen with the board game and takes turns rolling the dice for each team. If the team can name the animal that comes up on their roll of the dice, the teacher moves their piece along the board to the nearest space with that animal’s picture. When the teams get near the finish, they need to get the pig on the dice to win!
Instructions (for the teacher):
- Put the presentation in SlideShow mode.
- Roll the dice by playing and stopping the dice video.
- To make the red piece appear on a space, click on the button in the lower-left corner of the space. To make the red piece disappear, click on the red piece.
- To make the blue piece appear on a space, click on the button in the lower-right corner of the space. To make the blue piece disappear, click on the blue piece.
